Life of Riley operates on a service fee plus the cost of groceries. This gives you more control over the total cost since the cost of groceries is determined by which menu selections you choose.
The service fee includes:
- Initial Complimentary Client Consultation to determine your needs, likes and dislikes, and to discuss how the service works.
- Menu Planning – you will choose entrees from the extensive menu ahead of time, and they will be paired with an appropriate side dish, chosen by the chef and based on your preferences. Each week’s menu will be printed for you and brought along to leave with the prepared food.
- Grocery Shopping at the beginning of each cooking date to choose for you the freshest ingredients available.
- Food Preparation in your kitchen, as well as packaging, labeling, and storing in either the refrigerator or freezer.
- Printed Heating Instructions for each
specific entrée and side dish.
- Kitchen Cleanup – leaving your kitchen beautifully clean and filled with the delicious scents of a day of cooking.
- Pantry Cost is also included in the service fee to cover items which will be used in small amounts and will be kept in my portable pantry, such as spices, herbs, sugar, flour, oils, and condiments. This is to save you additional grocery costs.
Basic Service Packages
Entrée-Only packages come with no side dishes.
5 Entrees/4 servings (20 individual servings) – Entrée-Only Service - $270 + groceries
4 Entrees/4 servings (16 individual servings) - $280 + groceries
4 Entrees/2 servings (8 individual servings) - $260 + groceries
4 Entrees/4 servings (16 individual servings) – Entrée-Only Service - $240 + groceries
3 Entrees/4 servings (12 individual servings) - $240 + groceries
3 Entrees/2 servings (6 individual servings) - $220 + groceries
3 Entrees/4 servings (12 individual servings) – Entrée-Only Service - $210 + groceries
Container Costs – Your preferences on what type of containers you should like the chef to use in packaging your meals will be discussed in our consultation. If you do not already have appropriate containers for this service or have an insufficient amount of containers, additional ones will be purchased for you, as needed, and added to your invoice along with grocery costs. All entrees may be packaged in single, double, or family servings, depending on your preferences.
Grocery Deposits – A grocery deposit will be required before each cook date. If your groceries for that date cost less than the prepaid cost, you will be credited on your next invoice or reimbursed the difference. If your groceries cost more than the prepaid cost, you will pay the difference that day or mail a check.
Additional Services
Gift Certificates – Don’t forget to treat your friends and family to this wonderful service by purchasing a Life of Riley Personal Chef Service gift certificate. These are great gifts for baby and wedding showers, work promotions, birthdays, anniversaries and holidays, too! Whatever the occasion, you can be sure the receiver will be wholly excited about getting a break from cooking and having an endless menu at their fingertips.
Dinner Parties – The chef caters dinner parties exclusively for her regular, committed clients. This includes formal dinners, buffets, cocktail parties, backyard barbeques, baby and wedding showers, tea parties or whatever theme you like. The chef’s fee is $50 per hour (the amount of hours depends on the chosen menu) plus groceries, and includes her staying to wash the dishes, if you so choose. For larger or more elaborate parties, a helper may need to be hired and this is an additional variable fee.
